Ingredients
3 tblsp Unsalted butter, divided
1 cups Onion, organic, chopped
11.0 ounces Wild rice
2 each Scallions, organic, white and green parts finely chopped
1 tsp Freshly ground pepper
5 cups Water
2 tsp Salt
Instructions
- Melt 2/3 of the butter in a medium saucepan, add the onion, and cook over low heat for 5 to 10 minutes, until translucent.
- Add water, salt, and the wild rice. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to very low, and
simmer, covered, for 50 minutes to 1 hour, until the rice is tender. Drain well. - Place the drained rice in a bowl, add the remaining butter, the scallions, salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
- We prepare this in an rice cooker following cooker instructions. The rice holds its texture and tastes fantastic.
